Stood first helm this morning steering SW½S. Set the spanker at dawn and took in the mizzen topmst staysl, which I furled. Finished with deckwash and soogie. After breakfast, showed Bob and Spratt photos on my computer, and studied navigational mathematics from Bowditch with Jo. Took a nap from lunch to 1530. 1600 celestial nav workshop part three where learned how to use charts and a sextant. Helped clean out pain and wood flakes from the work that had been done in the monomoy until dinner. Cleaned in the galley until I stood fourth lookout. Just finished Captain from Connecticut.
